daily life...

If you live in Minneapolis there are two things
that enhance daily life.
This year the two have combined,

I bought Bridges Blue/Red for H as a gift a few years ago.
Having this print in our house
is a daily reminder of what
enhances
life
in
Minneapolis.
Even when/Especially when,

good ol' Denver...

It's Wednesday and it's been a long week.
We all deserve a happy tune, don't we?!

Denver kicks out some good stuff now and again.
Thanks Lumineers, and thanks to The Current!

On another note,
last night was my best bicycle ride of the year.
41 is feeling a little creeky this year, but
Damn I love when the Sun is out!

There is nothing
about this

that I do not like.

and these shoes...
are you kidding me?!!!

they have me written ALL over them.

by far the most practical and beautiful

shoes

I have ever seen
at a fashion show.

And the music....

to be...

This is what it is like
to be
too cool for school.

If this is not beautiful
If this is not inspirational
If this is not cool,
then I do not know
what is.

goodness me...

goodness me I have been so busy.
Summer comes but once a year
and the rain looks to finally have stopped
for a spell.

SO looking forward to the upcoming long weekend!

I thought I would focus the next few posts

on some of the cool things
my city

has had on offer
that I have enjoyed of late.

First off...

Juana Molina
If Juana is coming to a city near you,

go.

What a brilliantly creative

humorous

talented

individual.

Juana is one of those people you see

and you think

"I would love to be her friend"

because...

well,
she just seems pretty darn cool.

We had a lovely night out

at our
local museum.
First time alone since

the pup came to join us.

The evening was like a

meditative trance.

My city...

it has some cool things to do.

Thank you Juana..

end or beginning?..

It was H's birthday yesterday.
The last of the 30's...

We are not big into frivolous gifts,

but some thoughtful surprise gifts
are always fun.
H took me to a Green Day concert
back in our Denver days.
We were in our late 20's and we were still older than 90% of the crowd,
but so what - these boys ROCKED it!
And they are from the Bay,

so what can I say ~
we have a soft spot.

And, the gift of hopes and dreams
can always be fun for a few hour
s...

On a bicycle note...
Those days out there are sure getting shorter!

I tried to tuck in an hour ride last night
and had the lights on half-way through!

Ahhh....but it was beautiful.

And riding all summer
is making me
feel like a buff rock star.
I'm loving the p
ower!
Yes, sir, that is a girl on your wheel,
are you going to pedal or do I need to
smoke you right here right now?!
I think I will smoke you...
goodbye.

For those of you in Minneapolis this weekend.
Nice Ride will be at the Minneapolis Bike Tour.

take me away...

it's amazing how music and a walk can transport you to one of the most fabulous Euro-chic vacations you have taken in years.

adjusting again to change...

The sudden switch to Autumn has put me in the dark movie mood.
As always I am a fan of the dark broody Northern European movie.
And of course a bike or two placed smartly within does not hurt.

Denmark as a beautiful background to a beautiful movie.
A tense bike ride ensured a viewing.

-I know there is a lot of debate about helmets, but a mate of H's has some good musings about his recent encounter with the road and his helmet here.
-Damn I like good ideas - check this out.
-Welcome Cyclopath!

Classic quote from our house this morning while I was viewing the new iTunes.

Me: The world is just moving too fast for me.

H: That's why I stepped off.

Happy Saturday! I'm off for a rainy grey bike ride...i think....

under my skin...

I do not make a habit of linking to music video's, but this just got under my skin today when I was driving around for work. Crazy thing is, H and I were just talking about Finland tonight.
I love Olivia's hair~nice bangs. Plus, the video has a bike in it...

I was digging a little Kaki King as well.

New Year, New Skein...

This balmy 35 degree weather will not last forever.
Time for a new, soft, pretty scarf.
Stockinette. No. 11 needles.

Some new faves...

Heard about these folks from my hairstylist. Thank you A!

A few good tracks on this one thanks to the beautiful voice of Elizabeth Fraser.

I need to qualify this one...I've wanted an Amsterdam bike for sometime (speaking of which, check out the nod to J&O in this month's I.D.), but I want a new bike that looks old so it is less attractive to the average thief. These aging/anti-theft images are absolutely brilliant! Brilliant I say!

My kind of gals...

I just found out about Amiina. Gotta love the album cover - Icelandic gals knitting against a wood paneled wall...Yes!
