Sweden Installment 7
Our last day in Stockholm I had decided building up the bike I wanted would be the way to go. I had been seeing these after-market skirt guards all over town, so stopped into Gamla Stans Cykel (the gent on the left had so kindly let me go for a test ride a few days before) to see if they knew where I could get a set. Out from the back they brought out what are now my very own set of skirt guards. I think these will look great on the Kronan, and in the meantime they are art in themselves. Besides the amazing memories I have been cherishing for the last month, these are my only souvenir from Sweden, not quite a Skeppshult, but I will take what I can get.

wow! You should have filled a suitcase... These are cool. What are they made of? They look quite a bit like those on the Skeppshult.
Yeah, aren't these great? Dern...had I only thought of filling a suitcase - great idea! They are made of plastic and they are everywhere in Stockholm. When I went back to sadly tell the kind man at Gamla Stans Cykel I could not bring a Skeppshult home with me, but that I liked the skirt guards - he pulled these out for me. I believe they are exactly what is on a Skeppshult. I tried to G**gle the name on them: Sävjo Plastic AB - but not much luck. I should have asked more about them at the store - but it gives me a reason to go back. :)
Michael - bring me back a bike from your trip!!!!!! Pleeeeeassseeeeee, I beg of you! We must start a collection for the bike now.
Oops, sorry, that was a desperate moment I just had. I of course would never ask you to do such a thing.
I have to go gain my composure....
I almost forgot to catch up on your Sweden trip!
Great pics and stories! Especially the hill climb ;).
Thanks Marc for stopping by. Obviously, the hill climb was more enjoyable for you. :) If only I could master the video taking while riding - still working on the picture taking skills...
Oh how I miss Sweden...
Marc - I just realized you weren't probably talking about my hill climb on the Kronan. Yes, I enjoyed watching the folks on Götgatan more than trying it on my own. All in due course...
