Every Saturday all Summer long (and now Fall) I treat myself to a long bicycle ride.
I ride because...
I love to ride my bicycle
I look forward to 'me' time all week long
I love the quiet solitude of an early Saturday morning
I love getting somewhere powered by my legs
I love reaching the lake as I near my half-way point
I look forward to gaging my improvement
I like to stay in shape
I like how my legs are looking
I like how I am feeling
I feel lonely if I do not get out and see what is going on in the City
I like seeing other people bicycle
I love to be outside
I love the Sun
There is no better way to savor a Saturday
and besides, what else would I be doing?
But after hundreds of miles, multiple solo rides, and growing weary of repetition, it was great to have some company today.
H finished racing a few weeks ago and has been winding down before he winds up for 'Cross season.
He puts on way more miles than me and way more of them solo, and was feeling like a little company too.
It was oh so nice to savor Saturday together.

However, I can't seem to get the video started, it links to the video thumbnail (large) when I click Play. I'm sure you're able to fix it. I wanna see, I wanna see! :)

Sorry Marc - I will have to credit you another day. The video worked on the preview, but does not seem to load when posted. I had to take it off.

oh, the credit is secondary, Sigrid, I just dig cycle videos :).
I do have eyes in the back of my head, but that's for another post :). Seriously, two fold: 1) I read all the cycle and other blogs/news in google reader through rss, 2) I have a cute little application in Wordpress that instantly shows incoming links. So when you link to a specific post of mine (permalink), it will show up right away.

I think it is partially the large size of the file, Bl**ger, and me. I compressed the file and it uploaded, but 1. It does not look as good and 2. It does not work. I do not want to use the common video site everyone uses, so am trying to figure out how to upload a quality video without it taking 3 days. Any tips you may have are welcome.
The Wordpress application sounds interesting.

- original video format (mp4, mpeg, m4v, wmv?)
- how (through what program) did you compress it and to what (original file size to how big now)
- if you changed it, to what format did you compress it?
As an option, you could put the original video file online (if you can), send me the link, I can download it and take a further look at it.
