I picked up Midwest Modern from the Library today after being in the very long queue, and I am devouring it from front to back. Us folks in the Midwest need inspiration, especially in the depths of January's arctic grip.
This nails it for me from the start:
...I want it to be a reflection of the confient and optimistic person I aspire to be. That is why home decor and fashion are so much more than fluff and pomp. They are the calling cards to our personalitities. The very act of participating in your personal appearance and the creation of your surroundings defines how you see yourself.
